Concert Review or sign of life

Well, everybody, I hope you didn't fall off your chair in shock...yes, it's me...I'm still alive and I'm just trying to get my "online-life" going again. What better way to start than with a concert review?

No, there wasn't a secret Bon Jovi show in Germany nobody knew about...even though I wouldn't mind a little private session...I went to the Scorpions concert last night in Hamburg.

I've never seen such a diverse crowd in a concert. Of course, there were a lot of older people, - afterall the band is in the business for nearly FOUR decades - but also people my age and even younger. Normally I would say such a mixture of people would cause some little problems, because older people tick a little bit different than parents with children and young people, but I thought "Well, they are all here to watch this one band...it should work..." Guess what....WRONG!!

After the "Edguy" tried to wake up the crowd, the Scorpions took the stage exactly at 9 pm and I jumped out of my seat. About two minutes later I realized that was a big mistake. Apparently those of the 14,000 in the arena, who had a seat really wanted to use it and watch the show sitting. I nearly lost it when a woman in the row behind me...HIT...you can't say it in another way...my shoulder and yelled that I should sit down she can't see anything. It's a ROCK SHOW for Christ sake, not Holiday on Ice, get your lazy ass up!!!

So I sank down on my seat again and tried not to explode because of my now captured energy, while the band tried very hard to get the crowd going.

That's actually something I already saw during the Bon Jovi concert in Hamburg...a lazy, emotionless crowd. The other show I visited, wasn't that diffcult for the band, but Hamburg seems to be a little bit too controlled to let go.

Last night something else seemed to freeze the crowd, well at least those who weren't diehard fans ... The Scorpions themselves. I had the feeling that a lot of people had no idea what they got themselves into. You have to know that even though the band is performing since 1972 in Germany, they never got the huge success like in the USA or other countries around the world. Why is absolutely beyond me. But I think most of the people last night found the Scorpions with the song "Wind of change", which gained huge popularity in Germany at the beginning '90th after the reunion, but unfortunately "Wind of change" is not a typical Scorpions song. It's much calmer than their other songs. So, some were a little shocked, when "Bad Boys running wild", "The Zoo", "Tease me, please me", "Dynamite" or "Big City Nights" were screamed at them.

The show end after two hours with the encore "Still loving you", "Rock you like a hurricane" and "When the smoke is going down" way too early for me. It was a great show when you put the audience aside andI can only recommed you watch them when they come close to your town...it's there farewell Tour.

Here are some video from last night:
