Coffee is my new best friend

Wow, what a week!

For the first three days getting up at 4 a.m. wasn't that bad. Then my body decided it's time to get some sleep again. lol I get the feeling I'll be living on the road (or maybe at the train) a lot for the next couple weeks until I have a car. Decided it's worth sleeping 30 minutes longer and having breakfast during the train ride.

Now the positive part: my new colleagues are extremely nice and offered to help me if there's any problem...all 64 of them. ;)

Already on day one I was invited to spend my lunch break with most of them in one of the offices. We do not have a cafeteria and no place to go to eat, because our office is in an industrial park area. There's only a pizzeria and a Chinese restaurant close by, so we all bring food from home. Some offices look like a kitchen with all the equipment in it. lol

On Wednesday we ordered in from the two restaurants, because that's the one day in the week everyone has to stay late. Four days a week clients can come between 8-12 a.m. and on Wednesday they have the chance to reach us between 2-6 p.m.

So far, I'm not working on my own. I still need to get a training course for the computer system. It's so different from everything I ever worked with. I'm a little worried. When I press the wrong bottom I might lose a lot of money. A little scary.

I will get that course in February. Until then I will work my way through the different departments and sit, watch and learn. It's not a bad idea. I have to work together with the other departments later as well. It can only be positive that I do know they way they deal with the clients.

I still have my office for myself, but I'm pretty sure that will change soon. They need people desperately and there are rumors someone else will start in February. Nevertheless that won't stop me from putting some pics and decoration on those white walls. I found some nice calenders that were on sale last week. Hope the new co-worker likes the Big Apple and the US National Parks. lol
